Staking is a core mechanism of the Solana network where users stake SOL to support validators and earn staking rewards.

Staking Methods¶

Native Staking Stake directly to validators: - Lock-up period: A few days - Returns: ~6-8% APY - Requires choosing a validator

Liquid Staking Stake through protocols and receive LSTs: - Marinade (mSOL) - Lido (stSOL) - Jito (jitoSOL)

Advantage: Maintains liquidity, LSTs can be used in DeFi.
