PLONK (Permutations over Lagrange-bases for Oecumenical Non-interactive arguments of Knowledge) is a universal zk-SNARK construction. Unlike Groth16, PLONK uses a universal and updateable structured reference string (SRS), meaning a single trusted setup can support any circuit.
